  • CNS Statement on Ukraine

    • Mar 03, 2022

March 3, 2022, Schaumburg, Il.— Like others around the world, we are following the war in Ukraine with profound sadness and concern.

The devastation wrought by the military invasion is antithetical to the Congress of Neurological Surgeons’ mission to enhance health and improve lives. We cannot stay silent as Ukrainians suffer unimaginable loss of life, property, and security.

The CNS stands with Ukraine and its people, including our members and their patients in the region. Our thoughts are with the members of the neurosurgical community who have loved ones affected by the crisis.

We join other international health organizations in encouraging our members to donate to reputable organizations — such as the International Committee of the Red Cross — that are on the ground and responding to this humanitarian emergency.

Ukraine has inspired the global community by showing the power of collective action. Together, we can help Ukrainians address their urgent needs as we continue to wish for a peaceful resolution.
