Schaumburg, Ill., January 16, 2023—The AANS/CNS Joint Cerebrovascular Section and the CNS Foundation are pleased to announce an open call for applications for the prestigious three-year Joint Cerebrovascular Section/CNS Foundation Young Investigator Research Award, valued at $150,000. In 2022, applicants were so strong, two winners were selected.
The awardee(s) will receive $50,000 annually through 2025 and be invited to present their findings at the 2026 CNS Annual Meeting.
“This award is vital to advancing treatment for our patients. We are grateful for this collaboration with the CNS Foundation and the generosity of our members to make this program possible,” said William Mack, MD, Chair of the Joint Cerebrovascular Section.
“On behalf of the CNS Foundation Board, we thank the Joint Cerebrovascular Section for your leadership and partnership with the CNS Foundation on this award program to improve patient care,” said CNS Foundation Chair, Martina Stippler, MD.
Ananth Vellimana, MD, of Washington University, and I. Joshua Abecassis, MD, of University of Louisville, were last year’s winners of $150,000 grants to conduct early career investigations in cerebrovascular diseases.
